All-New Small Land Rover SUV Arrives in 2011

by Land Rover in the News on February 24, 2010

We’ve been eagerly anticipating the upcoming small Land Rover SUV. Based on the LRX concept, this small SUV was slated to go into production, but few other details have since been released. However, Land Rover has just announced that it will officially be heading to showrooms in 2011.

Although the vehicle’s official name has not been released, the production version of the LRX concept will make its debut this summer at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. Later this year the vehicle is also slated to make its US debut at the 2010 LA Auto Show.

Technical details and pricing information have yet to be released from Land Rover. If the new models is closely based on the LRX, expect compact dimensions to compete with vehicles such as the BMW X3 and Audi Q5. In addition, the concept vehicle was more sporty than the typical Land Rover rock crawler, so expect the production LRX to be somewhat more civilized. Naturally, it’s also expected to have advanced off-road features just in case buyers do want to venture off the beaten path.
